Katsinam Tihu
Often called kachina dolls, these unique form of sculpture are traditional to the Hopi and Zuni. For the Hopi culture, Tihu are given to the young girls during katsinam ceremonies and are educational toys. Each Katsin tihu embodies qualities and lessons that are taught as reminders of how a Hopi person should live and of the spirtual world around them. These carvings can range from the old traditional style to highly detailed.
